OUR PROGRAMS
Peer Support
Laurel's Grief Center exists to provide grief support that promotes a transformational grief journey from bereavement to hope. We use peer support, which is support provided by someone with a similar experience to promote self-efficacy and hope. Peer support is uniquely implemented at Laurel's Grief Center through a blending of top-down (cognitive methods that use logic to promote physical relief) and bottom-up methods (physical methods that use somatic connection to bring physical relief)
Visual Arts
painting, drawing, and sculpture
Performing Arts
theater, music, and dance
Literature
poetry, journaling, and writing
Healing through the Arts
Using creativity to allow the mind to process and heal
Experiences in Nature
time in nature, nature play, and gardening
Yoga
meditation, breath work, and body movement
Interactive Play
allowing your body to creatively chose how you want to process and heal
Healing through Somatic Movement
Using body movement and body connection to grieve and transform
Connection
the heart of peer support is human connection; we use connection with others who have also experienced grief to normalize grieving and support you on your journey
